What Size Pot or Bucket Do I Need?
Some products suit a particular size and shape of packaging.
We expect certain products to look a certain way. To see a shelf-full of the same size and style of pot just with different company labelling is normal to us. This is because of our expectation that a product will look a particular way. Manufacturers know that there is comfort in familiarity.
Here is our brief guide to show examples of different sizes of containers and their uses.
150ml Pot
These are widely used as a pot for pâté or potted shrimp.
They are also found on the shelf containing a single concentrated curry sauce portion.
180ml Pot
These are commonly used as a pesto or other dip container.
We also sell these a lot to fishmongers who use them for a shellfish portion, such a cockles or whelks.
250ml
These are our most popular size of pot as they are ideal for so many products including houmous, couscous and fruit. We also find these are popular for an individual yoghurt portion.
280ml
We sell a lot of these to fishmongers who fill them with larger shellfish individual portions, such as prawns, anchovies or jellied eels.
385ml
There is a very attractive honey comb pattern around the bottom of this pot making it perfect for honey or honey based products.
450ml
The 450ml pot is ideal for a small soup or a concentrated soup portion, it is slightly smaller than the soup pots most commonly found on supermarket shelves.
520ml
This pot is the go-to size you’ll see on the shelf for ready made soups as they about a mug size.
They are also common as a dog food measure cup.
330ml Pot
This is a very popular shallow standard fish bait pot. Its around the size of a deli counter tub.
390ml Pot
Commonly used for a larger coleslaw or delicatessen portion in the supermarket.
We also sell them for slightly larger fish bait containers.
500ml Pot
This 1/2 litre pot is perfect for sauces and yoghurts.
Also used on deli counters for olives and pasta dishes.
560ml Pot
Our customers use this as a deep fish bait pot. It is also used by yoghurt manufacturers as a large yoghurt pot.
650ml Pot
Perfect for a cheesecake slice from the deli counter.
800ml Pot
This is a larger size pot, ideal for containing larger fixings or soil samples.
500ml Pot
This is a shallow 500ml pot, perfect for heavier but delicate food items, our customers use it for homemade sweets or nut mix.

This is a new size of pot we have just introduced. Its large capacity but shallow depth makes it ideal for larger portions of delicate foods or home made crafts.
1170ml Pot
This is commonly used as a sturdy container for 1kg of nut butter. Its around the size of an individual candyfloss pot.
1500ml Pot
This pot is used by our customers for large fixings.
It is also found on supermarket shelves containing protein powder and sweets.
2.5 litre Bucket
The is a standard paint kettle size, common to most DIY stores. In clear it is also a share size popcorn container or large carp bait boiles bucket.
5 litre Bucket
This is the standard interior paint tin size. Its a common size for sharing portions of candy floss or large popcorn buckets.
10 litre Bucket
This is a large paint tin sized bucket. We commonly sell our 10 litre range to local manufacturers for bulk curry sauce, dried seeds and nuts and bulk metal fasteners.
It’s also the size you see on the shelf as the 10.4 litre is commonly used for bird fat balls.
20 litre Bucket
The 20 litre bucket is used by many different companies in many different areas. We sell the to caterers, medical supply manufacturers, homeware manufacturers for the production line and home use for containing a large bag of pet food.
25 litre Bucket
Many local farmers use this bucket with plastic or metal handles, depending on personal preference, to hold a pail of milk.
We also sell them to catering companies as large food safe containers for items such as chips or pizza sauce.
30 litre Bucket
This squat, easy to stack, 30 litre container is ideal for keeping items such as fish bait fresh. Our customers come back year after year for these particular fish bait buckets due to the quality and air tight seal.
33 litre Bucket
The 33 litre bucket is a great homebrew bucket, our homebrew customers buy it in a natural colour with a IML scale for ease of measuring.
60 litre Bucket
This tall 60 litre container is ideal for keeping powdered items or large items secure, dry and fresh. It’s about the size of a large kitchen bin.
The secure lid and airtight closure makes it an ideal all round bucket.
